About me

Buffy & I

Buffy & I

Hi! 👋 I’m Sam 🤗

I started WALKDOGRUN to offer a nature and adventure focused dog walking experience to enrich our dogs lives

Having lived in Chapel Allerton & Chapeltown for 7 years I know the area well. Being a keen runner and cyclist led me out on to the tracks and trails. We are blessed to have such amazing woods, footpaths and green spaces on our doorstep!

I have always loved animals and nature and I’m happy to have found a vocation that lets me combine both. I’ve always had family dogs and currently have a (very cute! ) 11 month rescue pup that loves to run around with me 🐶

I have recently noticed an increase of unhappy dogs in my area, dogs left to bark in the yard all day and dogs bored of walking the same lap of the park. My passion is to get these dogs out, running around and enjoying nature

I am qualified in professional dog walking and pet sitting and canine emergency first aid. I am fully insured and DBS checked

I care for your precious pet as if they were my own, I am trained in dog welfare, I only use positive reward based training and the utmost care for the safety and welfare of your dog

🐾

I cover the LS7 area - Chapel Allerton, Chapeltown, Gledhow, Scott Hall & Meanwood

I walk in Sugarwell Hill, Meanwood Beck and Meanwood Valley Trail, Woodhouse Ridge, Gledhow Valley Woods as well as Potternewton, Chapel Allerton, Meanwood and Roundhay Parks

I love agile & athletic breeds and dogs that need a good run around

I modify walks and runs to keep the routes stimulating for the dogs and maximise the amount of time spent with the dogs in the woods

Why WALKDOGRUN?

WALKDOGRUN is for any dog that wants a good walk or run!

Dogs are social animals that need company and value time spent with people, other dogs or out adventuring

Our dogs happiness and health is often related to how often and how much they can enjoy getting out and about

Exercise and an active lifestyle can prevent obesity and disease and increase our dogs life expectancy

Dog Exercise

Exercise is the best thing you can do for your dog to ensure they are happy and healthy

Regular exercise has been shown to:

  • Reduce stress

  • Improve sleep

  • Maintain a healthy weight

  • Reduce common behaviour problems

  • Help our dogs live longer & happier lives

Regular and vigorous exercise is important for your dogs physical and mental health. Play and running exercises their brain and improves their social skills, reduces stress and helps to maintain a healthy weight

Every dog is unique and needs a different level of exercise - I offer specialised walking and running adventures to suit every dogs unique needs
